Across the River

Dala is a small provincial town/ village across Yangon River, just a 10 minutes boat ride from downtown Yangon. It is not popularly visited by tourists but the more adventurous travellers do eplore here. One thing to note which is largely warned in many popular travel sites is that this place is large in scams, so if you are visiting be very careful. Nonetheless it is a place to acknowledge a typical provincial life it is not a place to visit if you are expecting amazing beaches and attractions.

Snake Temple

A short excursion from Dala you can see this enchanting snake temple. Situated in Twante you will need to arrange transport. Snakes all around the temple, hanging from the top and some on your feet, not for the faint hearted.

Land of a Thousand Buddhas

Just as the title states, this place was incredible. A place for the worship but also for those tourists who love photographs.

Dala is a place to visit if you are an open minded traveller, it is not for any extravagance. Excursing to other areas is expected as Dala is small, and there are very little places to stay. I did get scammed which was an experience explained on my blog so a little care is required. Saying that it is a nice place.

“Travel isnt always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, even breaks your heart. But that’s ok. The journey changes you, it leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully you leave something behind”.
